When Emily and her mom Brandee found out that Leonard Nimoy had died, they were both very saddened by the news. They used to watch Star Trek (both The Original Series and The Next Generation) when Emily was growing up. It was a weekly ritual. Even today, they still have annual Star Trek movie marathons.

Luckily, they were able to comfort each other and fondly remember their favorite Vulcan, which Leonard Nimoy brought to life with his great acting talent. They are planning a Star Trek marathon soon.

Playing with Dolls

Emily (Supia Rosy) and her mom Brandee (Limhwa Elly) were setting up their dolls so they could take photos of them. Berry the Dragon was watching from her cage-house and decided to take her kitty pull-toy for a walk so that she could better see what Emily and Brandee were doing.

Afraid that the wee dragon would knock down the dolls and little props with her wings, the two women warned her to stay on the sidelines. So, Berry ate cookies and watched with interest as mother and daughter played.

EXTRAS:

A better look at my newest Azone girl that I got from my husband for Christmas. Mia has such a sweet little face. It's hard to tell here, but I put her on the small Pure Neemo body (Jean, my Lien in the maid outfit behind her, is using Mia's original medium-sized body). I wanted all my animal-type Azone girls to have small bodies.

Various Re-ment sets and a Megahouse Black Cat's Italian Restaurant set mixed together. I wish Megahouse was still around—they made exceptional miniatures.

This week, I listed Brandee, my Limhwa Elly, for sale on Den of Angels. Not even twenty-four hours later, I deleted the sales thread. I thought I was going to be okay but, in the end,I just couldn't sell her—she's so pretty and I decided I would miss her too much.

I had wanted to sell her so that I could raise money for an Iplehouse SID woman that I would like to have (I'll do a more in-depth post on this later). But, since Brandee will no longer be leaving, I need to think of another way to raise the money for her.

Anyway, here are the rest of the photos that I took for the sales thread:

She has yellowed a lot since I first got her back in 2010. Luckily, she has yellowed perfectly evenly across her entire body. It's a pretty color—an antiqued ivory shade. (On my computer monitor, these photos are pretty true-to-color.)

There is a rub-mark on her right nipple where her clothes wore away her blushing.

You may remember when my Limhwa Elly first arrived, she had shipping damage. I had sent her legs to Buff on DoA to have them fixed. The hairline cracks are still visible, but she's structurally sound due to the epoxy lining the inside of her ankle joint.

Face Forward, Part I

I've been wanting to do this for a while now: make mosaics of my dolls showing all the face-ups they've had, from the first to the most current.

Note: The Cristy Stone face-up is amazing. I love it! There's only one problem I'm having with it: Brandee is Emily's (my Supia Rosy's) mother and her face-up seems a bit too perfect when compared to Emily's more realistic one. I keep wondering if they should have face-ups by the same artist. Too bad Emily's face-up artist is no longer around. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I definitely won't be wiping Emily's face-up though—I love how much character and realism it has (see below).

Note: I thought the Cristy Stone face-up was gorgeous, but a little too sophisticated and glamorous for Emily's character. I actually ended up selling that head and getting a new one because I thought the face-up was too lovely to wipe.

Note: It took me awhile to settle on the right look for Julia, but I'm happy with her more mature look now. I think she looks like she could be 16 or 17, which is what her character is supposed to be.

Doll Chat, Part 1

A lot is happening on the doll front even though I've been neglectful of taking pictures lately.

» I sold Caroline (my Minifee Woosoo Vampire Elf). I fully intended to replace her with a normal skin version of the same doll (since I coveted Selene, my sister's Woosoo, who has normal skin) but instead I started seeing owner pictures of the new Minifee Chloe that just started arriving about a month ago and fell in love. So…

» I ordered a Minifee Chloe (not the full set though; I got her a la carte). You can see some really pretty owner pictures of her (the last 15). I'm hoping she'll arrive here by mid-December, but I've heard that Fairyland is kind of behind on orders right now, so she may not get here until next month. I can still hope though!

» In other Fairyland news, they are getting ready to release a new 65cm line of dolls. I've fallen for the elf girl. I think she's gorgeous! There are only preview images so far because the line is not set to launch until December 15th, but I love what I've seen of her so far. I won't make my final decision until she is for sale, but I think I've convinced my husband that I should get her for Christmas. ♥ I wonder if she'll come with the tattoo arm? That would be cool!

» Also around mid-December, Kaylee, my Minifee Shushu, will be sent away to Meggilu (you can check out a portfolio of her custom work here) to get a new face-up. I love her current one, but I thought she could use a refresh. Since I've gotten Kaylee, her personality has change a lot and she's matured from an innocent girl into a confident young lady so I want a face-up that better represents that.

» Brandee, my Limhwa Elly, came back from getting her face-up, but she fell off a shelf and ruined it so I've had to send her back. I felt like a total idiot. I hate when I ruin a face-up even if it is an accident. I feel like I destroyed a work of art, which I guess I did. It makes me nauseous just to think about.

» Tahlvin also got a new face-up by the lovely and exceptional SDink. He looks amazing! I'm still trying to find the perfect wig for him though. He's really picky!

This is getting longer than I'd planned so I'm going to split this post into two. Next post will deal with playline dolls that have sucked me in.

Brandee was my second character to get tagged by one of my friends. So, I compiled a "10 Facts about Brandee" list.

It gave me a great excuse to take some pictures of her since she's now fixed (when she first arrived, her ankles were broken). And then, next week, she's also heading off to get a new face-up so I wanted a chance to chronicle her current look. Also, I got to photograph her in some pretty lingerie that my sister bought my dolls for my birthday.

Anyway, I took these pictures with the thought in mind that they were taken by Tahlvin, Brandee's husband. I guess you could say these are boudior pictures. Um…but then how did they end up on the internet? Uh, oh. Tahlvin has some 'slpainin' to do.
