I'm getting ready to change the display on this shelf so I wanted to get a few picture of The Misfits before I put them away.

Dollroom Close-ups (Part 2)

Continuing the dollroom tour, I have my Jem dolls displayed on my bookshelf. This will be a rotating display—Jem and the Holograms will have to make way for The Misfits or The Stingers next.

Raya is one of my newest Jem dolls and is one of my favorites.

I've always loved Aja and like this doll version of her, but she's not a favorite—her hair needed a lot of work when I first got her (it looks so much better now) and I don't like how bulky her shirt looks (the material is very stiff making it hard to arrange so it hangs naturally).

This is the Jem from the "Who is He Kissing" gift set that also included Jerrica. I also have the Classic Jem doll, but I prefer this version of her.

A friend of mine said that this version of Jem reminded her of Dolly Parton. I agree with her–we think it's because of her lips.

Shana is another of my favorites from the new Integrity line of Jem dolls. I love her face-up and her hair is fun. I did give her hair a trim though. It's not as short has her hair in the cartoon show, but it's shaped a bit like it now.

Along with Raya and Shana, Kimber is another favorite of mine.

I grew up in the 80s and was totally a Jem Girl. My sister and I played with the dolls and watched the cartoon religiously. I even recorded the songs (with a tape deck set up in front of the TV speaker) from the show so that our dolls could put on concerts.

Anyway, even though the nostalgia-level was high, I had promised myself that I wouldn't succumb to the temptation of the new line of Jem dolls that Integrity has been releasing. My willpower held strong until I started seeing owner-photos of the Rio dolls. Wow! I think he rivals and surpasses many of the male dolls in Fashion Royalty's Homme line. I wish this is what Rio looked like when I was playing with the original Jem dolls. :XO:

Still, my willpower didn't fully abandon me until I saw the pre-order for Kimber and the rest of the Holograms—my willpower gave up the ghost and I totally caved. I pre-ordered the Holograms and was lucky enough to find Rio, Jem and Synergy. The only doll I didn't get was Jerrica.

Now I feel like having a Jem cartoon marathon and playing with my dolls.

Our Dolls, Part 3

Continuing the pictures of my dolls with my sister's dolls…

My sister's doll Aren (Soom Angel Aren) has three Ken boyfriends at her home, but that didn't stop her from checking out my Fashion Royalty boys. Darius was the lucky guy to get his picture taken with her—he was very happy with the decision. She looks quite excited about it as well. Don't they look adorable together? I think my sister might want to get a Darius now.

I love Aren so much. I wanted to steal her.

Oh, by the way, I gave her a purple manicure while she was here. It turned out really cute, but her hands are so tiny! It's like giving a Barbie a manicure.

Also, Darius has had some customization by me: I redid his lips and gave him some shading.

Birthday Stuff, Part III

I've actually had Mina (the brunette) for a few months now, but my husband got me the Contessa (the blonde) for my birthday. I so love these vampire girls. They love to tease and torment my other dolls.

The Contessa is one of Dracula's Brides. I love her curly hair although I imagine I'll be redoing it before too long. Curls are pretty but they get messy so quickly.

The Brides' boots are to-die-for. I'm a big fan of boots.

Mina, my first Bride. I painted her lips red because I love the first Mina's lips so much.

I also got some clothes for my Barbies and Fashion Royalty dolls from my sister and husband. So much fun!

I've never introduced any of my fashion dolls, have I? Anyway, this is Zoe. I named her after a character in Firefly, one of my favorite shows ever. She's wearing a Liv outfit from my Sis.

This is Natasha. She's named after the character of the Black Widow. She's wearing another Liv outfit from my awesome Sis.

This is Foxxy, named after a character in Austin Powers: Goldmember. (Yes, I've named all my fashion dolls after superheroes or pop culture characters. What can I say, I'm a geek! ) She's wearing an outfit from my husband.
