One month per year, Tahlvin (DS IM Hound) must serve at the Elven Court. As you can tell by his grumpy face, it's not his most favorite thing to do (but then it's rather hard to tell with Tahlvin since he always looks grumpy). Within the past year, Tahlvin's brother Hale (Soom Tremo) became the court's bard. Hale has actually really been enjoying his new job. Thane (Soom Sard), the Lord of the Court, is considering making it mandatory that more of his subjects have to serve at court—he likes being able to talk to new people (it can be lonely being the Lord).

I really need to take some better pictures of the outfits the boys are wearing. They all look so handsome in their Nezumitoo (from etsy) coats.

I will always and forever love Tahlvin's grumpy face. There is a warm and loving heart beneath his forbidding exterior though.

A few months ago, I got Thane some MakoEyes (IB-021). I wanted to see what he looked like with dark grey eyes. I like them; they are a nice change.

Hale is back to sporting his short wig. And I love these cheap, ol' Kemper Doll eyes on him.

Christmas in the Dollroom

Last year, almost everything in our house was still in moving boxes at Christmas time. So, it's been fun to decorate the house this year—even the dollroom got decorated.

Anyway, here's some quick pics I took with my cellphone.

My American Girl tree. It's the perfect size for the dollroom.

Emily is setting her dolls up for a photo-shoot.

I got a new doll: Isul Glen (he's the brother of my Pullip Bloody Red Hood).

I'm still unable to use my regular camera so I decided to have a little fun with the camera filters on my phone.

This picture of Katriss is the wallpaper I'm using for my phone's lockscreen.

Hale lost a bet with Thane and now, not only does he have to wear a harem outfit, but he's supposed to perform a dance as well. Katriss will be joining them soon since she's very much been looking forward to seeing Hale's performance. Thane is in no hurry for her to arrive however; he wants to savor his wine and enjoy Hale's discomfort for awhile longer. (Cheeky demon!)

Dollroom Close-ups (Part 7)

Notice that Thane has claimed the throne. He quite fancies himself the king of the dollroom. Hale (on the left) is his scribe—he's also Tahlvin's half-brother.

I've changed his look yet again; it's a nice change from his short hair. I also added a few moles/freckles to his face.

Mori Boy

Hale has gotten a style update. I commissioned some horns for him from the wonderful Shannon of Sparrow's Shop, and dressed him up like a mori boy. "Mori", which means "forest" in Japanese, is a style of dressing that incorporates loose-fitting layers of natural fabrics with a nature theme (source: "Mori girl", Wikipedia). His outfit was one that I had originally gotten for Thane but, since I ended up styling Thane in a black-and-white color scheme, the natural colors of the outfit no longer worked for him. The colors do, however, work perfectly for Hale. I think I've finally found Hale's niche.

Also, you probably didn't notice as it's a subtle change, but I did a little updating to my site: I added new random banners up top (it's about time!) and increased the width of the page a bit to accommodate a slightly larger photo format. I didn't want to do a complete redo, but it's nice to have the site updated a bit.

Something a Little Different

Oh, my. I've been so horribly lazy (and uninspired) about photos lately. I really want to get back into the swing of things though, and take a lot more pictures of my dolls—not only my BJDs but my Jem and action figures as well.

These pictures are actually from several months ago; I just found them on my hard drive when I was getting ready to post some photos of my new Lati Yellow Coco. I decided I should post these first since they've been waiting the longest. XD

Anyway, I've updated Hale's look a bit since I first introduced him. I gave him shorter hair, hazel eyes, added a bit more blushing, and I painted out the eyeliner on his lower lid.

I still have some more work to do on him. Most importantly, I have to wire and hot-glue suede him so that he does more that just flop around whenever I pick him up. At the moment, it's impossible to pose him in anything but a sitting position. Oh, well, at least he looks good.

Hale Shadowtalon

I ordered this guy back in April and he finally arrived in mid-August. I had these photos ready to post a couple of weeks ago, but a broken computer, company and vacations delayed me a bit. Better late then never though!

Anyway, this is Hale Shadowtalon. He is Tahlvin's half-brother (they share the same mother). Hale really admires his older brother. They have a very close relationship and were pretty much inseparable growing up.

I think Hale's gorgeous, but I'm still unsure as to whether or not I'll be keeping him. He really hasn't "clicked" for me yet. I really hate when a doll arrives and I no longer have the same excitement for him that I did when I first ordered him. But, I'm going to give him some more time. I want to take some photos of him with my other dolls, especially his brother. Maybe then he'll "click".
