So, I tried straightening Thane's wig. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it as straight as a I wanted. It's mostly straight, I guess. I think I'm going to leave like this for a while; it's a nice change, plus it took forever to (mostly) straighten. His curly hair will return at some point though.

New Eyes, Again!

I'm feel like I'm always trying new eyes for Thane. This time, he's wearing 12mm ErsaFlora Eyes in Petrol Peacock with Black Base. I thought it would be fun to try out black scleras since he's a demon.

Anyway, I quite like them. They are high quality acrylic eyes, and the metallic irises really catch the light.

At Court

One month per year, Tahlvin (DS IM Hound) must serve at the Elven Court. As you can tell by his grumpy face, it's not his most favorite thing to do (but then it's rather hard to tell with Tahlvin since he always looks grumpy). Within the past year, Tahlvin's brother Hale (Soom Tremo) became the court's bard. Hale has actually really been enjoying his new job. Thane (Soom Sard), the Lord of the Court, is considering making it mandatory that more of his subjects have to serve at court—he likes being able to talk to new people (it can be lonely being the Lord).

I really need to take some better pictures of the outfits the boys are wearing. They all look so handsome in their Nezumitoo (from etsy) coats.

I will always and forever love Tahlvin's grumpy face. There is a warm and loving heart beneath his forbidding exterior though.

A few months ago, I got Thane some MakoEyes (IB-021). I wanted to see what he looked like with dark grey eyes. I like them; they are a nice change.

Hale is back to sporting his short wig. And I love these cheap, ol' Kemper Doll eyes on him.

Christmas in the Dollroom

Last year, almost everything in our house was still in moving boxes at Christmas time. So, it's been fun to decorate the house this year—even the dollroom got decorated.

Anyway, here's some quick pics I took with my cellphone.

My American Girl tree. It's the perfect size for the dollroom.

Emily is setting her dolls up for a photo-shoot.

I got a new doll: Isul Glen (he's the brother of my Pullip Bloody Red Hood).

A bit closer view of Isul Glen, whom I've named "Oliver". I'll take better pictures of him soon.

I'm still unable to use my regular camera so I decided to have a little fun with the camera filters on my phone.

This picture of Katriss is the wallpaper I'm using for my phone's lockscreen.

Hale lost a bet with Thane and now, not only does he have to wear a harem outfit, but he's supposed to perform a dance as well. Katriss will be joining them soon since she's very much been looking forward to seeing Hale's performance. Thane is in no hurry for her to arrive however; he wants to savor his wine and enjoy Hale's discomfort for awhile longer. (Cheeky demon!)

Notice that Thane has claimed the throne. He quite fancies himself the king of the dollroom. Hale (on the left) is his scribe—he's also Tahlvin's half-brother.

I've changed his look yet again; it's a nice change from his short hair. I also added a few moles/freckles to his face.

Note: As I was putting Tahlvin's mosaic together, I realized I hadn't taken a picture of his new face-up yet despite him having it for almost a year now. I had to take a special picture just for this mosaic. *hangs head in shame* I've made it a personal goal to take more pictures of my dolls in 2012.

Note: I had the hardest time finding a look that I was completely happy with for Katriss. Her current face-up, by Cristy Stone, perfectly captures the character of Katriss, I think. I can't envision her any other way now.

Note: Kaylee also had a Shushu default face-up by Fairyland but I never took a picture of it. When she first arrived, she was here for only a few hours before I wiped the default face-up off and sent her head away to get a new face-up (by Kittymaru).

Note: Thane's first face-up ended up flaking off through no fault of the face-up artist. It turned out that his face was very rough which caused there to be bubbles when the MSC was sprayed on it and acrylics painted over it. It wasn't noticeable unless you looked closely, but then the face-up started chipping… Before I sent him to ShallowSleep, I sanded his entire face and got it silky smooth. I didn't want another face-up to flake off!
