Baby Dragon's Horde
February 10th, 2014
For Christmas, my husband ordered me an Aileen Doll Rot baby dragon. While waiting for her to arrive, I decide to create a little room for her. I filled it with everything she holds dear because, even though she's a baby dragon, she has accumulated a rather respectable dragon's horde (not of gold or jewels, but of cookies, sweeties, stuffies and books).
I finished putting everything together this past Saturday and the very next day I received a notice that she has shipped. Yay! She must have sensed that I finished her room so she decided she was finally ready to come home. She should arrive sometime this week.
P.S. While putting together her room, I decide to name my incoming dragon "Berry" since I ended up using so many pieces of my Strawberry Re-ment sets.
P.P.S. I made the "wooden" floor myself. It's actually made out of cardboard and acrylic paint. I'm pretty proud of it. 🙂

Oh what a fantastic room for Berry:) I do love the "hard wood" floor. You did such a nice job. She will be so comfy with her own fluffy rug, teddy, pillows, picnic basket, TV:) and shelf of goodies. Where did you get thethrow pillow?? Most of all where did you get The Hobbit, and Where the Wild Things Are books. Right up her alley. Nice job can't wait to see her.

I am still loving how those floors turned out. I was really surprised when you said you made them out of cardboard. That's amazing. Did you stain the cardboard and draw the floor lines? I bought some lightweight wood to do a similar thing to but just haven't got around to it yet.
I can see quite a few things that I missed when I first looked at your photos on flickr. So many little books. Did you say they had words in them? That's pretty detailed if that's the case. Most small books come blank inside.
Does the glass have "liquid" in it, or pretend liquid I should say. I didn't notice that before. That's quite neat.

Yikes, I didn't see your reply until now.
Thanks for explaining how you did those floors. It sounds like a long but worth it process. I might try it. The idea I had for mine was to draw in the floorboard lines onto the wood I have and then varnish it and try to make it look a bit more realistic. Haven't tried it yet. Been trying to get to the measuring…
