The Mysterious Mr. Quin

The Mysterious Mr. Quin (1 of 5)

I'm pleased to introduce you to Viktor Quin. (I still can't believe I got my hands on this guy. Thank you so much, Zagzagael! And, yep, this is the one I told you about, Lani, but he hasn't taken over the bed or anything. haha He actually shipped from the Chico post office. I thought it was interesting. 😉 )

Until recently, Viktor was a knife-throwing Harlequin at one of Cirque du Soleil's productions. Due to a romantic entanglement with one of his co-workers that turned sour, the management urged Viktor to take a break from the production for a few months.

In desperate need of money, one of Viktor's acquaintances puts him in contact with Julian Nomad's manager. Due to a recent scandal, Julian was in need of a bodyguard, and Viktor was a perfect a fit for the role.

Viktor is an Iplehouse Akando–Pierrot. However, I decided that Viktor would be a Harlequin instead of a Pierrot since in the Commedia dell'Arte (improvisational theatre that was at its height of popularity in the 16th-18th centuries) Pierrot is usually portrayed as the sad, naive clown whereas Harlequin is often seen as the rebellious trickster. I think Viktor looks much more mischevious than he does sad. (Also, I used to have a cat named Harlequin. 🙂 )

I'm impressed with him in every way. His resin is a gorgeous tan and his knife-holding hands are blushed so beautifullly. I only hope I'm able to do half as good a job when I blush his regular hands and the rest of his body. It's interesting to note that he's the same height as Ethyn and Tahlvin (my Dollshe Hounds) but he's so much more broader and muscular.

His Pierrot head fascinates me. He seems almost real to me, for some reason. Also, he kind of looks like The Crow. :XO: His basic head has been sent to SDink to get a face-up. I can't wait to see what she does with it.

Loved the story and I do think he is gorgeous. He is a true Harlequin–as was ours mischevios. Boy she was a true Harley and so precious!!:)
I can't wait to see him in person.

  2. Kara says:

Thanks, Mom! I at last have a doll that is sort of named after precious 'Quin. :XO:

  3. Reyoko says:

Wow…. as you've said the thing that impressed me the most were his knife-holding hands. The photo you took from the angle through the knifes were definitely the best for me. Can't wait to see him with his basic head! 😀

Now he's a good-looking guy! I also really like how he's sort of a bodyguard – though the facepaint sort of reminds me of the Joker from Batman (In a good way), and then when I read how he's a harlequin it seemed to cement the connection for me (because of the Joker's girlfriend, Harley Quinn, heh heh). I think he looks fantastic! :XO:

SDink's other face-ups have been great, I bet she'll do a brilliant job on his normal face, too. 😀

Reyoko: His basic head should be done soon. I checked SDink's website and she's working on him. I'm so excited! And thank you! Those knives are fun props. 🙂

amalinaball: I can sort of see the Joker resemblance although he was just so freaky in the most recent movie. haha I think his pierrot face will always remind me of The Crow. (That way, at night, I won't lie in bed thinking about some homocidal clown lurking around in the dark but rather a revengeful spirit…er…both sound a bit creepy. Perhaps the clown head will be sleeping out in the living room tonight. 😉 )

  6. Lani says:

Sooo, what does John think of your new friend? 😉

  7. Kara says:

haha Actually, he said he was pretty cool. It was an unsolicited compliment, so I believe him. He also likes that Victor doesn't look anorexic (as he calls my other dolls). 😉

  8. Reyoko says:

Yeah! I can so imagine you working on battle scenes now with them! Oho! 😯 A fight between Tahlvin and Victor one day perhaps?

    Who knows… ❓

  9. Lani says:

Oh, good. We don't want John feeling moody or depressed for "unknown" reasons. 😀

Love your sites Kara! xxoo, lc

  10. Kara says:

Reyoko: A fight with Tahlvin and Viktor…hmmm…I wonder who would win? It would be a scary, bloody fight, that's for sure. haha 💡

Lani: Exactly! 😉 And, thanks, I have fun with my sites. I'm such a nerd. 🙂 *hugs*
