The Mysterious Mr. Quin

January 29th, 2009

The Mysterious Mr. Quin (1 of 5)

I'm pleased to introduce you to Viktor Quin. (I still can't believe I got my hands on this guy. Thank you so much, Zagzagael! And, yep, this is the one I told you about, Lani, but he hasn't taken over the bed or anything. haha He actually shipped from the Chico post office. I thought it was interesting. 😉 )

Until recently, Viktor was a knife-throwing Harlequin at one of Cirque du Soleil's productions. Due to a romantic entanglement with one of his co-workers that turned sour, the management urged Viktor to take a break from the production for a few months.

In desperate need of money, one of Viktor's acquaintances puts him in contact with Julian Nomad's manager. Due to a recent scandal, Julian was in need of a bodyguard, and Viktor was a perfect a fit for the role.

The Quiet Man

The Quiet Man (1 of 7)

Poor neglected Dominik. It's been forever since I last took pictures of him. He just doesn't get the attention my other dolls do.

I think it's time I put him up for adoption. It's something I've been thinking about for awhile actually, but I've been hesitant to do so be cause he's a special doll to me–he was the doll that got me interested in BJDs in the first place. However, I think it's time to part ways with him. I'll be putting a feeler thread up on DoA soon.

Vampire Hunter D

February 22nd, 2008

"D" as in "Dominik"… heehee Well, at least I find myself funny.

The fourth necklace in the collection that my sister gave (and made) me for Christmas. Again, I paired it with a short leather thong necklace to sort of play up the extremes.

Dominik: Too Sexy for His Shirt

February 16th, 2008

Well, Dominik is officially a model now. He is appearing in the April 2008 edition of Haute Doll magazine in an article about the larger Asian ball jointed dolls. If you have a Den of Angels account then you can read a full write-up by Aimee, the administrator of DoA, of what's in the magazine that may interest BJD owners. But, I'll quote the most important (to me 😉 ) information here:

Larger Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls – This is an article by me [Aimee] that focuses on the really large doll trend lately with photography by Marti Hunt, Elizabeth Vegvary, Kara Struble [emphasis mine], Sabriell and Orpheelin.

Back in September 2007, Aimee contacted me to see if she could use a few pictures of Dominik in an upcoming article she was writing. I, of course, said yes and even provided her with a few more pictures that I took of Dom when we visited the Olympic Peninsula with my parents.

Yeah, I'm a bit giddy about it all and very pleased that my pictures of Dom were chosen. I haven't received my issue of Haute Doll yet but I'm haunting my mail box until it arrives.

Manga Hero

February 15th, 2008

Dominik is modeling the second of the necklaces my sister made for me for Christmas. It's a lariat-style necklace and layers really well with long necklaces.
