Mad Hatter

As with Dominik in the previous post, Ethyn wore this outfit for two months before I finally got around to taking pictures of him. However, the wig and the hat were last minute additions–both are crazy and very fun to play with. Anyway, I think Ethyn's definitely channelling a Mad Hatter-vibe here.

Isn't the hat crazy? I love it. And that wig really adds something…although I'm not sure what. I have a love/hate relationship with that wig. I can't seem to style it worth a damn. I need pointers or practice on stylying fur wigs. Good thing I have a giant hat to stick it under.

I so love that little smile that lurks at the corner of his mouth. It can look flirtatious, cunning, innocent, silly, etc. depending on the outfit or picture.

You know, the hat reminds me of Edmond (a character of mine from The Monster and the Maiden). It's so something he would wear.

A close-up of Ethyn's boots. They are so cool but he can't stand in them (they throw his center of balance off). My husband wishes he had a pair like these, although, really, where would he wear them? haha!

    Ah, Ethyn…both your boys are lovely, but Ethyn just seems to have such a lot of personality. I think that wig looks amazing coupled with the hat, but then again I always did like longish curly hair.

    I like his little smile, too – very mischievous. When his hands are up over the hat brim like that, it kind of looks like he's taking shelter from the rain. 🙂 He reminds me a lot of those sort of fantasy mages and wizards you get in Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy games, especially with such pretty blue-grey eyes!

    Beautiful pictures of a beautiful boy! 😉

Dom is very stiff and it's always a fight to make him look semi-natural and relaxed; whereas Ethyn is the perfect model and just slumps into great poses. Or maybe I have just figured out how to work with Ethyn better than I have with Dom.

    And you're right, he kind of does look like a mage from a Japanese video game! A modern mage though from some urban fantasy story perhaps. Hmm…

    I like Ethyn, but I like Dom more. Dom just looks so different. But Ethyn is cute too. I love the hat…and his eyes are quite interesting. Good choice. I have a thing for curly hair, so I think the hair is brilliant.

Usually, it happens to be whichever one is in front of my camera lens or which one I'm looking at in pictures at the moment. haha I'm so fickle. 🙂 I really need to try that wig on Dom someday too and see what he looks like. I've never tried him with curly hair before.

    I love this guy! And the wig is strangely flattering to him^__^ (though you say it's hard to style, haha XD). suddenly he makes me lust for a Hound again, argh… (i call his smirk "the smirk of death", and it just kills me everytime I see it XD)

    The decision to buy a doll…I know it well. With the whole Dollshe panic going on right now, I'm trying to decide whether or not to go for the Saint I'd been planning on or wait and see what new doll Mr. Dollshe comes out with. Argh…the pressure! 😉

    Somehow… Somehow, he reminds me of Sweeney Todd.

    2nd picture from the bottom; With that pose, and the shaded eyes, it's possibe to imagine him as a maniacal serial killer.
