You Remind Me of the Babe…
August 4th, 2007

These are my favorite pictures of him so far. He really seems quite haughty and like he has the capacity to be cruel. I think he'll be an excellent successor to David Bowie. Not that I'm biased, of course. π
I originally took these pictures because the woman from whom I bought the coat (Apple) asked me to takes some pictures of my Hound wearing it. She doesn't have any dolls in the same size range of the Hound (70cm) to model it in her sales thread at Den of Angels. I said sure. As soon as I got Ethyn dressed in the coat and posed in front of the camera, I was immediately reminded of Jareth in Labyrinth. It's funny because he looks nothing like him (Jareth as played by David Bowie). Especially given the fact that he has black hair, he's not wearing make-up, and he has brown eyes. Hmm… Come to think of it, he shouldn't remind me of Jareth at all! And yet he embodies the essence of the character somehow. One of those interesting things about BJDs, I guess.

Haha…when I saw "Mom" I didn't realize it was your real mom. No fair getting people to plant complimentary comments on your site. π
Not being into BDJs, it's so weird for me to look at the joint point in their chests. I know it's there so they can bend but it's so eerie looking compared to their faces which have a humanistic quality to them.

Egats! I just had an epiphany! I was admiring Ethyn's hair and I realize I want his haircut! You see, I've been wanting to cut my hair and well – why not? I love it when a plan comes together. . .if only it can look as good on him on me.

When I look at all those shots, these particular lyrics come to my mind immediately. The last pic especially:
"Your eyes can be so cruel…
…Just as I can be so cruel"
He looks incredible. He'd be a great Goblin King! π

I haven't seen it in years, but I always remember it being really amazing. I think it's a film that will always stand the test of time. It's definitely a classic.
I think Ethyn perfectly inspires that inner conflict of wanting to get close to him, but being frightened of him… all at once.
Maaan… Yer really makin' me want a BJD. XD
