Julian Nomad (1 of 5)

Yep, I finally settled on a name for the poor guy—Julian Nomad. His last name was my sister's idea (thanks, Sis!). Together, we worked out that Julian is the lead singer and namesake for the rock band Nomad.

Now I just need to figure out what he would sound like if he were real (my sister and I used to do this when we were younger; that is, figure out what our Barbie and Jem dolls would sound like if they were real). So far, I'm leaning toward him sounding like Dero, the lead singer of the German industrial band Oomph! (crappy YouTube video example of one of their awesome songs). I kind of like the idea that Julian would have a deep, powerful voice even though he looks like he might not—I like contrasts like that.

    I really like the voice you picked out for him. I listened to Oomph –Supernova and I also agree that a more throaty and deeper voice goes with his sexy appeal. You go girl. Is that a guitar and where did you get it. Love, 8)

    That's exactly what I though about the voice, Mom! Great minds and all that, right? 😉 You explained it better than I did though.

    That's a violin case–a violin and bow are in side. I bought it from someone on Den of Angels. I'd love to get a guitar for him, but haven't found one that's the right scale yet.

    I have to admit, you and your sis are incredible when it comes to picking names. ::-*: And even though at the moment I'm not all that into Julian yet (since I've been obsessing over Ethyn and Dominik for too long) I'm sure eventually I'll love him too. 😉

    I like the basic idea of him being a rock star. Just look at him, after all! The idea of getting him a guitar is cool… but when you menitoned he was actually holding a violin, I got an idea. It's… well, constrasting (very constrasting).

    "He appears as a rock star and loves to play the guitar. But behind those rough gestures and striking poses, he has a gentle touch to his aura. He picks at the violin, though silently and alone. Not wanting to 'ruin his image'. So he plays it on his own."

    Kim: heehee Yeah, I think I'm kind of obsessed with them. 😉 And, I have a story for him percolating in my head. I really need to update the "Doll Bios" section.

    Reyoko:You know, that's funny that you wrote that little snippet about Julian and his violin because that was the exact thing I thought of when I had him pose with his violin in the first place. haha 8)

    I was wondering why a rock star would bother to lug around a violin and I came to the conclusion that it is precious to him. While the rock star personality is the image he shows the world, only when he's playing his violin does he show his soul. However, this is an aspect of himself that he's careful to keep hidden.

    I so like that basic idea! I guess great minds think alike, huh? Hahaa. 😛 It'd be even better if that violin was given to him by a certain someone as a present. 😯 Whoever that poor soul may be.
