Night Demon (1 of 10)

Finally, I get to introduce you to Merek, my Soom Sard. Initially, I wasn't going to introduce him until I finished his body blushing, but the weather up here has been so horrible that I may not get a chance to complete him until summer. 😡 His face-up—by elisa_maza (Angel Toast) who did Tahlvin (my IM Hound) as well—is done though and turned out exactly as I wanted. So, I thought I might as well enjoy him even though his body, hooves and horns are still unpainted.

I think I'll be doing a different wig on him. Although I do like this one, it is very high maintenance. It's not like I don't have a number of black wigs to choose from however. Currently, he's wearing this wig, which gives him a slightly more modern and masculine look. I was also considering different eyes, but, for now anyway, I'll be keeping the Volks metallic eyes as I like how they glow and make him look demon-ish.

    Hi Honey,
    Merek looks shadowed around the eyes that make him look more daunting, but the softness of the rest of his coloring on his face compliments Katriss with him. How are you going to do his body and hooves. I presume you need to have the weather better so that it is less humid and able to dry quicker. I love his outfit and necklace. 8)

    Hi, Mom! Thank you! I'm not sure how I'm going to do his hooves and horns yet. I haven't decided if I want to do lighter or darker colors. And, yes, I need good weather because high humidity can make the MSC (Mr. Super Clear) dry incorrectly (i.e. you can get air bubbles beneath the surface that are visible to the eye).

    Gah, ill for two weeks and I've missed so many new posts! Oh well, just had a marathon catch-up session and it was great!

    Merek's a really good-looking chap (or rather, incubus), I must say. It seems that Sard was one of the most popular Soom sculpts, but he's extremely versatile and none look completely identical. It's great to see your interpretation of this sculpt, he's particularly handsome. He and Beryl look great in those photos! I love their Japanese-y outfits.

    I was also pleased to see Tahlvin again! Beautiful chap – although I'm not sure beautiful is really the right word. But he's still fantastic; you'll have to show off his tattoos some time! :XO:

    Both of their outfits are simply amazing. I was looking at Katriss's a while back but just do not have a girl yet who can pull it off.

    Gorgeous dolls and photography as usual.

    Are Marek's fingers jointed?

    amalinaball: I hope you're feeling better now! I love Sard for the same reason–each one I see seems to have different look to them. heehee Yeah, beautiful might not apply to Tahlvin. Actually, he hopes it doesn't. He says he's too rugged and manly. 😉

    Bansidhe: Thank you! I thought Katriss' kimono was perfect for a succubus. It's very sexy, I think. And, yes, Merek has jointed hands like Julian. I love them! They allow for more realistic poses.

    :XO: Oooh I like him! (Random, but I like his lips alot…) The faceup looks great on him too! He smolders lol! Can't wait to see him finished though… what are your plans for his hooves and horns? Do you have a "look" planned for him? He and Katriss are a lovely pair.

    Ps. Where did you get his necklace? It's a nice little touch…

    Thank you, Kiwi! I've started doing his horns and they are going to be similar to Katriss' except for a slightly different color. I think I'm going to black and brown hooves for him with black, grey and white fur. Or maybe black and indigo fur? I'm still thinking about it.

    His necklace is by Orangebabydolly (DoA Marketplace) and I got it during one of their eBay sales.

    Somehow, he reminds me of a bijin-ningyo, with his straight, straight black wig and his awesome flowergirl's silk kimono. ^^

    At first, I'd thought that he and Katriss belonged to the same 'type', but when you put them together, they hardly do look similar. Even with Katriss' 'look', she seems more 'alive' than Merek. No offence meant. ._.

    The backdrop's pretty cool with the play on corners and lighting, too. (i.e. in the second pic) It's hardly something worth commenting on, but… ^^

    Anyway, I'm pretty sold on ginarolo's eyes. Seeing how Gumdrops and Droprops and Enchanted eyes are harder to get… I'll save up my Chinese New Year red packet money and get a pair for Sana. Thank you~

    Hehe. Then again, I've always liked anything that's even the slightest bit related to asian styled (Japan and Korean only though) 😛

    He looks marvelous. Really. And the profile about him, though short, I can basically guess his character already. And Julian?! 😕 Ohh boy. I can just imagine the mayhem that's going on now… Anyways, great doll!!

    Thank you! He does sort of look a bit like a bijin-ningyo. I still haven't completely settled on a final look for him yet. I have a dark steel gray wig coming in the next month or so, and I'm trying to decide what eyes I want for him. I'm wondering if I should do light grey or perhaps white eyes.

    I hope the Ginarolo eyes work for you. They should look lovely on Sana. Let me know when you get them. I'd love to see pictures. 🙂

    And, yes, Merek will be stirring up a lot of chaos around here. Bad demon! haha 😉
