Since I was never completely happy with Tahlvin's previous face-up, I had elisa_maza of Angel Toast Mods & Face-ups do a new face-up for him. She did an excellent job on him and captured the look I wanted. I totally love him now!

I do find it funny that in doll form Tahlvin has totally adopted punk dress and attitude. He must be a younger version of the suave, dangerous mercenary in Worlds Apart. 8)

I don't know about you, but after I dressed Tahlvin in these clothes and wig, I realized he reminded me of the character of Honjou Ren in the live-action version of NANA (a film based on the NANA manga). Tahlvin even has similar lips and eyebrows.

    Hi honey,
    I really like the softness of his lips compared to the great eye makeup which is soft but stands out. He does look punky down to his black nail polish!!!!! How fun. Love, Mom 😀

    Mom: Thanks, Mom! I wanted a slightly smoky eye with natural lips. I love how it turned out.

    BanSidhe: I like it so much better too. And, you're right, I really do need to do some pictures of his tatts. They really are awesome.

    Oh gosh, now that you mentioned it, he really does look like Ren! 😯 But that's cool too since I really like Ren's style anyways. Hahaha~

    Personally I think he looks best when photographed with his face slightly tilted to the righ or left. Even better when you added the dark shadow. Just gives off that dark, mysterious, dangerous look that we all love so much about him! 😮

    But he does look a little… skinny to me. Or is that because of his jacket?

    It's been a while since we last saw him. ^^ He really does look more like Tahlvin from WA now.

    For some reason, it seems to me that lotsa d.oul-boys wear punk styles really well. Ahahahas.

    Btw, on Masterpiece eyes, do the silicones guve really good glow+track? And do they turn yellow after a while? ('Cause my friend has a pair of silver Sooms that turned yellow. My fox's gaslights are still fine.) Their Nova Scotia is lovely, though I'm more inclined towards their acrylics…

    Reyoko: Thank you! Actually Dollshe boys are very skinny so it's probably not his jacket. 😮

    Bunnisteffi: It's indeed been a long while since we last saw him. I just wasn't liking his face that much, but I love it now so prepare to see much more of him. 😀

    As for the Masterpiece eyes, I have sort of a love/hate relationship with them. I haven't had any problems with the silicone yellowing, plus the particular ones that Tahlvin is wearing are very pretty and seem to catch the light really well. However, I wouldn't say they track like higher domed eyes. Most of my eyes are low domes though so I don't really miss that aspect.

    I've had some problems with other Masterpiece eyes (e.g. the Afghan Masterpiece eyes that Ethyn used to wear) where an air bubble seems to form between the iris and the silicone on top of it. Totally ruins the eyes. So, overall, I don't recommend them.

    Personally, my favorite eyes are the urethanes (the Gumdrops by Ethereal Angels [worn by Julian, Wednesday, Katriss and Molly] and the Enchanted Doll eyes [worn by Alice and Shushu]) or the glass eyes that Ginarolo sells (worn by Ethyn). Both types have amazing depth and glow.

    Aoibhgreine: That's so odd! I use the same host (flickr) for all my pictures so I'm confused as to why you were able to see the pics in some of my posts by not from the newest ones. Perhaps flickr was undergoing maintenance or something? Are you still unable to see them?

    I think he looks wonderful now. I love his new face up and just the overall feel of him. The wig is good and the jewelry and outfit are great on him, as well.
    Now, he seems to have become his personality. 😀

    I love BJD. Your Tahlvin is amazing. I want my own doll but there are heaps of different companys and I don't know which one to get a doll from. 🙁

I have a lot of suggestions but to narrow it down a bit I have a couple of questions to ask: 1) What size are you most interested in? (e.g. Tiny [8-30cm] — this is the size range that my dolls Alice the pig, Molly the cat, and Wednesday [Lati Green Coco] are in; Mini [40-45cm] — this is the range that my doll Kaylee [Minifee Shushu] is in; Larger (58-80cm) — this is the size range that all my bigger/adult dolls, such as Tahlvin, fit into.) 2) Are you more interested in Antro/Animal dolls, young/child dolls, or more mature/adult dolls?

    I love talking about dolls, so thanks for asking your question. haha

    As you like the Mini dolls, I'd recommend the Minifee dolls from Fairyland (they can also be ordered through Denver Doll, which can save shipping costs if you are in the US). Also, I like the Lati Blue line of dolls from Latidoll. I think all these dolls look like they can be a teen or young adult depending on how you style them.

    There are other dolls in this size category too. I highly recommend checking out the Den of Angels' forum. There is a discussion section about various Mini dolls there as well.
